Soon you’ll be able to, with the Dayflash app.

Collaborations empower creators to expand their network, grow their audience, gain new skills, take their content to the next level — and attract new opportunities. But, let’s face it! Finding creators to collaborate with is hard.

Hashtag search on today’s photo sharing apps isn’t designed for finding specific types of creators by location who’d be interested in a collaboration. For instance, it’s impossible to search multiple hashtags and a user’s city all at once, so that you can find specific types of creators in your city. Not to mention — many people won’t even show up in your hashtag search results because they don’t use hashtags that describe their location, their content, or let alone themselves.

Not only is it difficult to find the right creators for your next collab (whether it’s an online or in-person collab), but it also takes time to write personalized collab request messages to send to each creator over DM. Because it’s hard to find the right creators to collab with, many people aren’t collaborating with as many new creators as they can, which has been limiting the opportunities for creators everywhere.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if a social photo sharing app let you quickly see in advance what kind of collab a user is seeking (if any!) — and then let you quickly notify them (in a single tap) that you’re interested in that collab?!”

This is why Dayflash is stepping forward as the first photo and video sharing app that’s introducing a fresh, new way to discover and collaborate with different kinds of creators in your city — and in cities around the world. Dayflash knows how important it is for creators to form both online and in-person collaborations with other like-minded creators. So the team at Dayflash will soon be introducing a new way to easily search for, find and connect with the right creators for your next collab. And it’s all so fast, easy and fun to do.

To use Dayflash’s collabs feature, all you have to do is post a collab request so other creators know what type of collab you’re interested in. A collab request describes a collab and indicates the type of creator it’s for. For example, a dance photographer can post a collab request for dancers, and it might say something like “Dancers: Let’s Shoot! I’m a dance photographer looking to capture great dance shots!” Users can then tap on a “Collab” button on your profile — and in a single tap — they can like your collab request to express an interest in it!

For each collab request you post, you can see a list of users who’ve liked it, and from that list you can access their Dayflash profile to see their content and other social media accounts, and if they fit in well with your collab, you can then privately message them to start a conversation. Once you find the right creator(s) for your collab request, you can then schedule an online or in-person collab.

In addition to posting a collab request, you can also use Dayflash’s Keyword Search, which is powered by machine learning along with the keywords and location that users set to their account once — and that’s it! That’s right, there are no hashtags! With hashtagless discovery, you no longer have to worry about adding hashtags to each photo you share — since your account’s keywords and location do all the magic! Keyword Search makes it much easier than hashtag search to find specific types of creators by location who you may want to collaborate with.

Finding more creators to collaborate with via Dayflash can enable you to more frequently create beautiful and unique content or to accomplish certain things that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to accomplish on your own. For example, a songwriter can use Dayflash to form an online collab with a singer, in which they write the singer’s next hit song! And an NYU film student can use Dayflash to form an in-person collab with another NYU film student, in which they organize a networking event for NYU film majors. Dayflash’s collab requests can also be used to find other people that you can do more casual things with, like finding someone, for instance, to play a game of chess online, to meet with you for coffee, or to even exchange creative techniques. Creators can also use this feature for shout-out collabs, in which each creator gives each other a shout-out on their social pages to drive more attention to one another’s accounts. With Dayflash’s collab feature, there’s an endless variety of online and in-person collaborations that can take place.

Even more, collabs can help incorporate different perspectives and styles in your work, along with help you learn new skills and even improve on your current skills. Furthermore, collaborations can help you reach a new audience since when you work with another creator, you have the opportunity to reach their audience too. And finally, collaborations can help you grow a larger creator network and build new connections, which can not only help take your content to the next level, but it can also help you attract more brand deals, collabs, and even job opportunities.

Collaborations are essential for a creator to achieve organic growth as they expose the creator and their content to a new and potentially more engaged audience. Many influential creators have used collaborations to gain a loyal base of followers. For instance, Caspar Lee, a South African YouTuber, currently has over 7 million subscribers on YouTube. When Caspar started out with his YouTube channel in 2012 he struggled to gain major traction and initially only gained a few thousand subscribers. In 2014, he made a pivotal move in his career, befriending and eventually moving in with London based YouTuber Alfie Dayes, who had over a million subscribers at the time. Caspar collaborated with Alfie as well as various British YouTubers such as Joe Sugg, Jack and Finn Harries and KSI. These collaborations had a powerful effect on his YouTube following and were key to helping him gain over 7 million subscribers. The potential of collaboration is far more powerful than we may realize.

Dayflash’s new collab request feature is aiming to help creators take their content creation to the next level, and keyword search is making it easier for any creator to find the right collaborations in their city or other cities around the world. By connecting creators in a way that has never been seen before, Dayflash gives creators the perfect tool to spread their content like wildfire through each other. The collab request feature will help expand people’s creator networks, which will not only unlock new possibilities, but the team at Dayflash believes that it will take the world of creators and content creation to new heights that have never been reached before!
